We are pleased to welcome a guest speaker – Jonathan from The Art of Brilliance.
The Art of Being Brilliant is all about raising aspirations, boosting resilience, and getting people fired up for whatever life throws at them. Based on the science of Positive Psychology, it’s evidence-based but with the big words surgically removed and replaced with common sense, doable principles and great fun.

The available morning sessions are:

Complaints / compliance & honest conversations
Aim: To increase Commissioner’s awareness of the difference between complaints & compliance concerns and their responsibilities in relation to both

Running a team
Aim: to support commissioners with skills and confidence to run a team successfully

Reading & responding to Risk Assessments
Aim: To support commissioners with the skills, knowledge & confidence to read & provide appropriate feedback on unit risk assessment, with a focus on residentials & large scale events

Recruitment / Retention
Aim: To provide commissioners in LaSER with strategies, tools and skills to enable effective recruitment of adult volunteers in their area and retain volunteers within Guiding

The available afternoon sessions are:

Finance
Aim: To provide commissioners with practical skills and knowledge to enable them to support units in managing their finances, including fundraising ideas.

Trustees
Aim: To ensure that commissioners are aware of their responsibilities as trustees, does NOT include property management

Mentors
Aim: To provide commissioners with skills, knowledge and practical ideas to find and provide ongoing support for mentors in their areas
