The weather was perfect and the girls experienced numerous water activities including rescuing rubber ducks, kayak jousting, rafting and dragon boating, as well as a choice of activities throughout the day on dry land.
On September 11th, twelve of the 8th Acton leaders, Guides, Senior Section and mums (Kelly, Chloe, Coral, Ellie, Laura, Natalie, Kyomi, Liz and Helen) took part in the Adidas Women's 5k challenge raising money for Kith and Kids and a LaSER international project.
We travelled up to Hyde Park spotting all the other women participants on the journey. We met up with Maithi from Kith & Kids + Pip (McKerrow) and collected our Laser neckers. We were also treated to some Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Abby and Bethany, aged 15 and from Gravesend, spent three years
collecting 45 guiding badges each.
The County Commissioner for Croydon, Anne Pilkington has told us that HRH Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall visited Croydon on 17th August to show their support for the local people after the events of the previous week.
We have made a fun and exciting challenge badge as part of our fundraising for our GOLD Project in Chile this summer. It is suitable for all sections and is open to both units and individual members. The challenge badge costs just £1.50, with all profits going towards our GOLD Project. The deadline for ordering badges is 15th July 2011, but the challenge can of course be completed after this date!

A WEEKEND CAMP OF FUN AND ACTIVITIES FOR GUIDES FROM ACROSS THE REGION
28th - 30th May 2011, Blackland Farm, East Grinstead
Girlguiding London & South East England Region organised this weekend activity camp for Guides from across the Region. Participants were able to choose from a range of exciting and challenging activities that catered for all tastes.
On Wednesday 20th October 2010, Girlguiding UK celebrated the end of their Centenary year.
Vision was the culmination of 12 months of activities designed to mark the start of the next 100 years of Guiding.The aim of Vision was to bring all members of Girlguiding UK together to share one moment in time. A time for reflection on the fun of the last year, what the Promise means to each of them and to explore their hopes and dreams for the future.
