Become our Inspire Coordinator

We're looking for an Inspire coordinator for Girlguiding LaSER. Girlguiding Inspire is a community of women aged 18-30 who organise fun, flexible sessions and campaigns in their area. Find out more about Girlguiding Inspire.

Our region Inspire coordinator will play a key role in empowering young women aged 18-30 in Girlguiding LaSER to be part of Girlguiding Inspire. They will work directly with the lead volunteer for Inspire and the region team to shape and develop our offer for young adult members. They will work with county teams to ensure there is on-the-ground support for young women to take part in opportunities and set up social groups with their peers.

As our region Inspire coordinator, your role will include:

  1. Contributing to the development of Girlguiding Inspire for members aged 18-30.
  2. Building and maintaining strong relationships with lead volunteers and staff within LaSER region, acting as a champion for Girlguiding Inspire.
  3. Ensuring effective communication of the offer to members across the region and encourage participation in the range of opportunities available. This could be through social media, blogs and more.
  4. To work with county teams to build and support a network of coordinators who will empower young women to access opportunities locally.
  5. To consult with and gather feedback from young women in the region so that the offer reflects their views and interests.
  6. To research, identify and develop opportunities which highlights Girlguiding Inspire to young women in the region.
  7. Developing and running a calendar of gatherings and events for Inspire members to participate in. This could be skill share nights, social gatherings, leading challenge badges and more.

There will be lots of support available from the Girlguiding LaSER team, plus you'll be added to a group for other region and county Inspire coordinators so you can share ideas and support each other. This group has plenty of inspiration to kick off your content!

We're looking for great communicators who are full of ideas and passionate about developing Girlguiding Inspire in our region. Previous experience in leading teams is desirable and you must be able to work flexibly as part of a virtual team.

Whichever format you choose, please send in your application to thehive@girlguidinglaser.org.uk by Monday 5th April 2021. After this date we'll get in touch with applicants for a short interview. Here we'll get to know you more and give you more detail on what we expect from the role.

It is possible for the Inspire coordinator role to be split between two co-coordinators if there is interest in doing so. This can be discussed at the interview stage. Girlguiding Inspire is peer-led at every level. Therefore, coordinators must have current or recent experience of being in this age group (i.e. be aged 18-35) as well as demonstrating knowledge of the experiences, needs and preferences of young women.
