Summer fundraising made easy

Written by easyfundraising

With our meetings face to face on hold for over 3 months now, we know that many units are worried about funds. So, we’ve put together an easy 3 step plan to help you keep money coming in for your unit over the summer with fundraising website easyfundraising, ready for when you can meet again.

Here’s how easyfundraising works

Many of your leaders and parents will be shopping online this summer, and with easyfundraising, you can turn that shopping into funds for your unit.

When anyone connected to your unit uses the easyfundraising website or app to shop online with 4000 leading retailers like Amazon, eBay, John Lewis & Partners, M&S, Baker Ross, Boots & Just Eat, the retailer they shop with sends your unit a free donation at no extra cost. It really is that simple.

Hundreds of units are already using it successfully, including Oxshott Guides, Brownies and Rainbows who have already raised £1547!!

If your unit isn’t registered with easyfundraising yet, click here to get started (it’s free!)

  1. TELL your fellow leaders, parents and everyone connected to your unit that you have registered with easyfundraising – and WHY

Share your unit’s easyfundraising page with everyone and ask them to support you. It’s also important to tell them WHY their support is needed so explain how you have been impacted by lockdown and what a difference their support can make to the future of your unit.

Top tip: easyfundraising provide pre-prepared wording and images for your social channels, emails and website to help you get the message out easily and quickly. Take a look in the Promote my cause section on the website.

2. Show them how EASY it is to support you

There are over 4000 retailers so parents and leaders can raise donations with all their favourite online stores. They can raise on everything from groceries, travel and mobiles to DIY, fashion, insurance and much more. They can even raise a donation from their Friday night takeaway from Just Eat!

Top Tip: Look out for emails from easyfundraising with retailer offers and share them with your supporters

3. REMIND your supporters – and THANK them too

The most successful units regularly remind parents and leaders so they don’t forget to use easyfundraising when they shop. People are busy so it can sometimes slip their minds but if you make sure that you regularly post on Facebook, send a WhatsApp message or drop them an email, you’ll keep raising funds for the unit at the forefront of their mind.

Top Tip: It’s just as important to thank the people who are raising for you – easyfundraising lets you easily send personalised messages to supporters when they hit an important milestone such as raising their first donation.

FAQs

  • Will it cost us anything?

No – easyfundraising is completely free to register and use for both you and your supporters. And your supporters will not be charged anything extra on their shopping either

  • Our unit isn’t a charity – can we still use easyfundraising?

Yes – you don’t need to be a registered charity to use easyfundraising

  • How do we get our donations?

If you are not sure, email support@easyfundraising.org.uk and they’ll check for you and give you any help you need to get started again
