" I'd recommend guiding to anyone who's young at heart "
Switch Up has finished evaluating the successful applications, and so we thought we'd give you a little sum up of how Switch Up's grants have helped in LaSER!
First here's a reminder of what Switch Up was all about. It was set up in LaSER in early 2007, and provided funding to help girls and young women aged ten to 25 to participate in opportunities that otherwise may not be possible for them, largely due to social and economic barriers. We had £25,000 to award, and each participant could apply for up to £2,000.
Now here comes the numbers:
30 grants were awarded...
12 grants funded New Experiences

5 grants funded equipment to promote a range of guiding activities

An incredible achievement and an amazing project to have been involved in. To know that the decisions we made benefited that many people makes all our hard work and the time we have dedicated to Switch so worth while.
Watch out for the full Switch report, which will be available in the next few months.
