The Region provides a number of international opportunities to leaders and senior section members on an annual basis.
In 2010, 1 trip went to Australia to celebrate their centenary & 5 groups, which was 100 members, went to South Africa and God's Golden Acre. (Read more in their reports)
In 2011, 2 groups are attending the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden. 1 group are going to South Africa and God's Golden Acre and 1 other group to Costa Rica.
The process each year is as follows:
May/June
Region event at which Guiders (holding their Adult Leadership Qualification) are chosen for Region trips in the summer of the following year.
May-July
Counties run international selection events. Girls considered to be ready to take on the challenge of a Region trip are invited to attend the LaSER International Opportunities (LaSERiO) weekend. Some counties will offer additional international opportunities.
October
The LaSERiO weekend takes place and the teams for the Region trips are formed.

Trips are for Guides and Senior Section members aged 14-18 at the time of travel.
If you might be interested in participating in a Region international trip, please contact your County International Adviser for further details.
If you are a Guider (holding an Adult Leadership Qualification) aged 18-65 and you might like to run a future Region trip, please get in touch.
Grants
The Region will offer grants to all those taking part in a Region International trip. The amount will be determined as follows:
Participants will receive 15% of the total cost of the trip;
Leaders will receive 20% of the total cost of the trip.
Grants are also available to any member of the Region who is participating in a GOLD project. Your county will need to support any application for a Region grant.
