GAINING

GAINING stands for Getting Away Internationally in Guiding and this training is aimed at leaders who want to find out more about taking girls overseas. You can:

• Discover what’s involved, where there is support and how to plan a trip
• Learn about forms, qualifications, rules and regulations
• Consider aspects of finance, budgeting and fundraising
• Practise completing a risk assessment and develop a crisis management plan
• Discuss ideas about preparing a group and building your team
• Have an opportunity to talk with other Guiders who have led groups previously

Guiders from any section are welcome, aged 18-65, whether you would like to go, are thinking about going, or are just plain curious about international opportunities at any point in the future. There is no obligation to take part in any international trip as a result of attending – just come along to find out more!
