  • £5 could pay for 14 copies of The Cancer Guide; helping someone recently diagnosed with cancer, and their families, understand more about cancer.
  • £15 could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for an hour, helping people living with cancer receive the support they need.
  • £28 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for an hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
  • £48 could help run a large Macmillan information and support centre for an hour.
  • £60 could pay for a Macmillan Grant that buys a good quality liquidiser for someone who can’t eat solid food as a result of their cancer or treatment.

We are focusing on a key fundraising event each term - starting off with the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in September. However you and your girls can choose to do any of the activities at any time you wish. Check here to see which fundraiser we're currently promoting.

You can use Justgiving and we have set up a campaign page to bring together everyone’s efforts in fundraising for Macmillan.

If you plan to use Justgiving for your fundraising, please refer to our guide to setting up your page to make sure your fundraising is counted towards The Macmillan Challenge.

Collections are a great way to raise money, especially in a busy area. If you're planning a collection that takes place in a publically owned place that this is governed by strict legal requirements and must be licensed by your Local Authority. Before you approach your Local Authority for a license, please give the Macmillan Fundraising Support Centre a call to discuss your plans, making sure to mention that you are a member of Girlguiding Laser.

Raffles, lotteries, tombolas and sweepstakes are all classed as lotteries under the law and are governed by lottery regulations. It's best to contact the Macmillan Fundraising Support Centre if you are planning on running one. Make sure to mention that you are a member of Girlguiding LaSER.

Special Girlguiding packs will be available Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning - registrations have now closed for 2018 packs. We'll be launching sign ups for 2019 packs in May 2019.

More activities will be launched in September 2018 these activities will have resources available as downloads which will be accessed by visiting the Macmillan Challenge web page.

All monies raised or donated to Macmillan as part of this challenge need to be sent to Girlguiding Laser for processing.

Please do not send cash through the post. All monies should be paid into your unit bank account and a cheque should be made out to ‘The Guide Association Laser’.

The cheque should be sent along with a Funds Raised Form and for sponsored activities sponsorship forms should also be included to allow Gift Aid to be processed.

All monies and forms must have been received by Girlguiding LaSER (for final banking at end of partnership or activity by activity 14 October 2019).

There will be six different badges to collect. Badges cost £1 each plus post & packaging.

Download the badge order form, fill it in and send back to us at The Macmillan Challenge, Girlguiding LaSER, 3 Jaggard Way, Wandsworth Common, London, SW12 8SG.
