Most of the food FareShare sends to charities is fresh, surplus food, like fruit and vegetables. But, during the cold winter months, they urgently need more store-cupboard essentials, like rice, pasta and tins, so their charities can create hot, nutritious meals for people facing hunger. That’s why, every year, they ask people to help collect packets and tins.
Next year, one of the four badges of our new partnership challenge with FareShare will be Food Collection. To earn it, members will be asked to collect food either at their units or at home for FareShare. But this badge will be extra special – because we're running a competition for YOU to design it!
Can you create an eye-catching design to encourage people to turn out in force for the food collection?
We're asking units across the region to submit a design for this badge. Please use the template here and work together in your units to submit a single design to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also post them to Badge Competition, FareShare, Unit 7 Blackhorse Road, Deptford Trading Estate, Deptford, London, SE8 5HY.
We have extended the deadline for entries until Friday, 31 January 2020 at 9am. A shortlist will be announced on 24 February 2020. The judging panel will be made up of representatives from FareShare and Girlguiding LaSER. The judges' decision will be final. Good luck!
