Fiona Jackson

As Lead Volunteer for Learning & Development, I bring together the team that support and train our leaders to be the best they can be. Our team cover everything from the first interest a leader shows in becoming a trainer through to their qualification; regularly updating our trainers' skills through to commissioner training; and providing advice on the Duke of Edinburgh Award, outdoor and residential activities and walking.

Having led teams responsible for Learning and Development for large UK companies in my day job, my personal passion is to ensure we have sufficient training capability of excellent quality for the future, in order to meet the needs of the region and to look at all channels of learning for our volunteers

I have been a leader in Girlguiding for over 20 years and I am currently an assistant leader at a Guide unit in Girlguiding Sussex Central county. I have previously started and ran Brownie units, spent a short spell working with Rangers to help keep a unit open, and was a member of the Girlguiding LaSER trustee board.
