I returned to guiding saying I would help when my daughter was moving from Brownies to Guides and they needed an adult helper.
Very soon I found friendships and experiences that you don’t find in your working life. That has included taking the Guides to a camp with a trip to Scotland, flying from Gatwick to Edinburgh and seeing the tattoo, and taking Brownies under canvas at a district camp in Kent. I've ended up staying long after my daughter had her own family!
I have been both district and division commissioner in the past, and I am also Snowy Owl in a Brownie unit.
Guiding is unique and never the same for very long. I am proud now that my previous Guides are now running units in their own right.
