All the magic at the Mary Poppins Returns premiere!

Written by Caroline, leader, 1st North Lambeth Guides

This has been the most amazing experience for the Guides – one I am sure they will treasure for the rest of their lives. They were so excited when we told them the news that we were attending and they put lots of effort into coming up with the best questions to ask the stars of the show.

The Mary Poppins premiere was really fun as I got to interview the actors like Mary Poppins herself (Emily Blunt). At first, I was nervous but after interviewing the first actor, I knew there was nothing to be worried about.

While Tiana and Olivia were grilling the actors and screenwriters in front of the cameras, the rest of the Guides were taking in the glitz and glamour of the event. There were dancers performing songs from the film and pink trees all along the red carpet – which was actually blue!

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Tiana and I were lucky, the stars were very nice. When we handed out the badges, we were happy to see the stars smiling, it was a real honour.

Lots of the Guides hadn't been to the Royal Albert Hall before, so it was a real treat to sit down and watch a fabulous film in such amazing surroundings.

When I asked the stars questions, the answers were extended and fun to listen to. Mary Poppins was a very magical film to watch and it was a fun-filled evening I will never forget.

We are going back to one of the Girlguiding screenings soon to watch Tiana and Olivia's interviews appear before the main feature on the big screen.

What a magical way to end 2018!
