Parliament Week 2015 - your involvement!

From 16 -22 November 2015, members of Girlguiding LaSER, from Rainbows to Trefoil Guild, took part in Parliament Week to explore democracy in the UK. A huge well done to Leaders who created fun, thoughtful and eye-opening sessions to get their units excited by Parliament Week.

Sessions included discussing what their unit would change about the world and how they would change it, speaking in front of their units on a topic of their choice for 30 seconds and becoming politicians for the evening, coming up with a party mission and it's laws. There were also visits to the Houses of Parliament, discussions on how Parliament and the UK's voting system works, mini-elections and trips to local Town Halls and Councils. We've also heard that WAGGGS International Day of the Girl, 10 Million Voices, resource provided lots of brilliant ideas!

Well done to all who got involved, we hope that it's inspired your units to #DoDemocracy throughout the year! There's still time to order your badges if you haven't already done so, please email info@girlguidinglaser.org.uk with evidence of your evening, either photos or an explanation, details of number of badges required and a postal address for these to be sent to.
