Cost of living grant individual application form

Girlguiding HQ have distributed funds to regions to support units with the cost of living crisis (CoLC).

This funding aims to:

  • Help girls experiencing financial insecurity with the costs of guiding.
  • Allow existing members to continue enjoying guiding experiences.
  • Help struggling units to stay open.

Members can apply for this grant to deliver one or more of the following criteria:

  • Increase numbers of girls from poorer socio-economic backgrounds who can access guiding – e.g. PR costs, joining fees for books etc, unit rent.
  • Expand our provision in deprived areas where we have no presence (increase units).
  • Enable struggling units to keep operating despite CoLC (keep unit numbers stable) – e.g. subs deficits, annual subs, rent costs.

Please note

A leader/adult member can apply to the fund on behalf of a Girlguiding member who has been hit hard by the cost-of-living crisis (CoLC). Grants are available to those in deprived areas (IMD 1-4). Please check your postcode on the English indices of deprivation 2019.

These CoLC grants are available for up to £50 for individuals and £500 for units, but can go above this in exceptional circumstances. Please ensure you have approached your district, division and county for financial support before applying for this grant.

Funding will be considered for those experiencing financial hardship and will be allocated based on the funds available. Grants will be issued in 2024. If you have any questions or queries, please contact finance@girlguidinglaser.org.uk.

You can apply for this grant to deliver one or more of the following criteria. Please indicate which criteria you are applying under (select all that apply):
