Inspired but not sure where to start? We're delighted to announce that, in order to equip you with the information, skills and confidence you need to do our rugby challenge pack with your girls, England Rugby are offering free volunteer training sessions. These will be followed up with a selection of events for girls in the spring with dates to follow. Key Details What: An interactive training session to cover the 4 elements of our rugby challenge pack – get creative, warm up, ball games and meet a club. There will be a mix of physical activity (observe or be as active as you choose!) and theory, tailored to suit the needs of your group, and ample time for questions. You will leave with all you need to know to complete the challenge pack with your girls, and of course to get the ‘Love Rugby’ badge. Who: Any volunteer who wants to deliver the Love Rugby challenge pack with your unit, including leaders, unit helpers and young leaders, so please share this email with your unit team. (Young leaders should come as part of your leadership team and you will need to collect the usual consent forms.) Cost: FREE, units to cover travel expenses. Support for travel is available through the Girlguiding London and South East England Access to Guiding grant. What to bring:
Facilities at the venue: There will be changing rooms and tea and coffee making facilities. How to get there: The venue is accessible by public transport. There is also plenty of free car parking available. |
Love Rugby training morning for volunteers
Our partnership with England Rugby is inspiring girls through non-contact rugby and related activities, emphasising fun, fitness and inclusion. Rugby for girls continues to grow, especially after the amazing success of the Red Roses in this summer’s Women’s Rugby World Cup. With over 5,000 girls in the region having given rugby a go this year, we want to encourage even more units to get involved.
