We are pleased to launch a new 6-month long induction programme for new commissioners. Cohorts will have up to 24 commissioners and dependent upon appointment date.

Commissioners are responsible for the management of volunteers within their local area using the Girlguiding database Go.
This session will give commissioners an opportunity to review and ask questions about Go.
The session will include managing enquiries including disclosure checks, running safe practice reports, adding qualifications and ending roles.
As a commissioner part of your role is to have conversations with local volunteers, some of these may be sensitive or challenging in nature. This training will give you ideas on how to manage these and share experiences with other commissioners.
Commissioners during their role may have to manage complaints within their area from parents/carers of young members, volunteers or third parties. This session will help commissioners manage the process through to resolution.
Risk assessments are required for all girlguiding activities, as a commissioner you will need to review and provide feedback ensuring that risk assessments are robust and appropriate for activities being undertaken.
As a commissioner you become a trustee of your local area, this session will explore what this means for you.
As a commissioner you are responsible for budget setting for your local area and for overseeing the finances and financial practices of units within your area.
New commissioners will be invited directly by the region Learning & Development team.
