Brownie Google Takeover Day

Over May half term, 100 of our region's Brownies and their leaders took over Google for a day, having fun and learning about the technology industry. Brownies experienced programming and problem solving through a range of hands-on activities, including using Lego and Sphero robots. Their favourite activity was coding their own animation using ImagiCharms keychains.

At the end of the day, Brownies reported an increase in their confidence in solving problems, thinking like a programmer and using technology. Brownies came away with the new, limited-edition Google takeover badge.

Inspired? All sections can enjoy UMAs developed with Google, and you don't need any tech experience to run these activities in your unit.

Many thanks for a brilliant day. At least two of our girls have decided that they want to work at Google when they grow up and all of them wanted to know when they can go back.

— Leader, 12th and 28th Wimbledon Brownies

What an amazing day. The girls were very tired by the time we got back to Maidstone but to hear them trying to get all that they had done out to their parents made it all worthwhile and we cannot thank you enough for the opportunity you gave them.

— Leader, 2nd Shepway Brownies
