Explore Europe 2023 – riding the rails

The 3 teams are partway through their European adventure. How are they getting on?

Railblazers

The Railblazers are currently in Lujbljana, and have already had a day trip to Lake Bled for some paddleboarding. They’ve also been immersed in the culture of Berlin, Krakow, Prague, and Vienna, where they toured the Reichstag, learned about important history at Auschwitz, cruised down Prague’s River Vltava, and visited the famous Vienna Zoo.

Next stop: Venice!

Sunsets and Cities

Sunsets and Cities are now in Amsterdam after a 5-hour stop in Berlin. Earlier in their trip, the visited Our Chalet in the Swiss Alps, one of five WAGGGS World Centres, where they tried abseiling and took in the stunning mountain views. The team have also been trampolining in Lyon and explored the highlights of Venice and Vienna, bumping into Hampshire Scouts while they were there!

Next stop: Brussels!

Rails + Rivers 23

Rails + Rivers have arrived in Venice today, having taken their first night train from Munich. The team thoroughly explored Copenhagen, popping across the Øresund for the Disgusting Food Museum in Malmo. Swapping to something a bit more appetising, they later visited Hamburg’s Chocoversum where they made chocolate bars! Over the weekend, the team had a day on the water in the Olympic Park in Munich – paddleboarding, peadalo, kayaking, rowing and even swimming in the Olympic pool!

Next stop: Cologne!
