Girlguiding Sussex West County, Growing Up Wild day!

On Saturday 26 September, 103 girls from Girlguiding Shoreham, Southwick & Kingston Buci District, in Adur Valley Division, Girlguiding Sussex West County, enjoyed a day of outdoor fun based around the Girlguiding London & South England Region’s Growing Up Wild initiative.

The girls had great fun searching with their feet for “gold” coins in the mud, hunting for and identifying insects and mini beasts, getting up close to a parliament of real live owls, making a giant spiders web and a spider out of natural objects and learning what to do in an emergency if they are out in the countryside. All rounded off with a sing-song around the camp-fire.

The sun shone all day and everyone had an amazing time, from the youngest 5 year old Rainbow, through Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Leaders and Trefoil Guild members. At the end of the day everyone took home a Growing Up Wild badge and lots of happy memories to share with their families!
