Between November and March, Girlguiding Kent East County was delighted to help British Astronaut Tim Peake as he prepares for his journey to the International Space Station this autumn.
We worked in partnership with Spacefund, the UK’s leading space show company, to bring the Team Tim show to all sections in the County.
We also created the Team Tim Space Challenge badge with support from the UK Space Agency to accompany the tour. We’re really pleased to hear that other counties in the region have contacted Spacefund as a result!
The Team Tim Girlguiding Tour in numbers:
171 Kent East Girlguiding units took part in the Team Tim show.
7007 girls, leaders and family members were inspired with science over the 6 month period.
5792 (82%) of the total audience were girls!
93% said they learnt about Tim Peake and his mission to the International Space Station
3000 Team Tim Space Challenge badges were completed
