The Hive needs you! Fancy joining The Hive as an admin?

We’re looking for new members to join our admin team and contribute to this ongoing community project. You don’t need to have any previous experience, just creativity and a drive to learn!

What’s so great about becoming an admin for The Hive?

Learn social media skills such as scheduling, page management and community engagement.
Get creative by writing your own blogs, creating graphics for social media or coming up with unique campaigns.
Join a fun team, meet new people from across Girlguiding London and South East England region and work towards personal achievements, including award elements such as personal skill or your Queen’s Guide Element 4. However, you do not need to be undertaking an award to join the team!
Everything is done virtually, so you can join the team from anywhere in the region.

You don't need any previous experience - you just need to be creative, passionate and excited about putting your own stamp on an ongoing project. Depending on your role and how involved you want to be, you could put in as little as an hour or two a week, making it great for fitting around work or education, guiding and normal life! If there’s anything you’d like training in, we’ll make it happen.

What roles is The Hive looking for?

For summer 2020 - summer 2021, we’re looking to grow the teams of a few select roles. You’ll be part of The Hive team for at least 1 year and there may be opportunities to join different admin teams throughout your time with The Hive. We will always work as a team to share ideas, so while you might be in one team you can still have an influence on what other teams share and do!

Blogging admin: Be the first to see new blogs sent in by members and help them ensure they’re ready to share online. Get blogging access to the Girlguiding LaSER website to upload blogs and tell the rest of the team when they’re ready to share. This role would suit anyone who would like to get experience using blogging platforms and working with members to get content.

NEW ROLE! Writer: We’re looking for people who want to sharpen their writing/blogging skills. As a writer, you’ll be responsible for producing 1-2 blogs a month about anything you like! Start a new series, teach us something new… the subject is really up to you! Perfect for those wanting to develop creatively and get experience with blogging from start to finish.

Okay, I'm sold. How do I get involved?

To apply to be a Hive admin, tell us who you are and why you want to get involved with The Hive. Let us know the skills, passions, experience and interests you have that make you right for the team, and tell us what you hope to gain from the role. You can write a statement of up to 250 words, film a video of up to 30 seconds, or try something else - so long as you tell us the above, you can get as creative as you want! Please make sure to tell us which role/s you would like to apply for.

How you present your application really is up to you. We’ve had infographics, presentations and videos in the past. We really just want you to show us your creativity and suitability.
