World Scout Jamboree in Japan - Rosamund Liebeskind

Landing in Japan we were met by our home hospitality family whom we stayed with for 2 nights. We went out with the local scouts to temples and China town. In the evening we went to the hot springs. Though we were only there for two days we did really bond with the people we stayed with. I'm still in touch with them today!

Once we left them we took the bullet train to the jamboree sight. It took four hours to get there and when we did we were greeted by excited scouts from all over the world. After our arrival we set up our camp; our home for the next two weeks. Each day had a different theme to it giving us different activities to do. My favourite was the water sports day when we went to the beach. On our last day we packed up the tents and took the bullet train back to Tokyo.

Our first back on Tokyo we settled in to our hotel room for a relaxed two days post camp, knowing then already that we didn't want to leave. We made the most of the last of out time in Japan. Going to the sky tree, the tallest building in the city, Joypolis and Harajuku.

I miss Japan every day, and am infinitely thankfully for the change to go. Thank you!
