This Earth Day, we're excited to announce the production of a new vodcast exploring our connection with nature. And we want Guides, Rangers and young leaders to get involved!
Our ambassador Bec Ellul will be talking to Dr. Joelene Hughes, principal conservation scientist at the RSPB, about our connection to nature and some of the things that we humans can do towards the protection of species and habitat conversation.
Dr. Hughes will talk about her work at the RSPB and will cover some big topics such as the human-wildlife conflict and where that conflict might be likely, such as:
- in the use of increasing areas of land for agriculture;
- in building and construction where formal landscaping can destroy natural features and habitats, and;
- in traditional land management practices that may neglect biodiversity considerations.
Dr. Hughes will also talk about what can be done - and what is already being done - to address some of these areas of conflict with our natural world.
Guides, Rangers and young leaders: what would you like to ask Dr. Hughes? We want to hear your questions about conservation, wildlife protection, biodiversity, and what you can do in your own environment.
Submit your questions using the form below. If your question is selected, we will get in touch and ask you to submit it as a video to be included in the vodcast with Dr. Hughes’ response.
