Again this year, Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) wants to teach Brownies, Guides and Rangers how to do CPR and use a defibrillator ahead of the emergency services arriving, which can more than double someone’s chance of survival from a cardiac arrest.
As part of the KSS Mission Badge launched last year, units can take part in free, live-streamed CPR sessions with the KSS crew on Restart a Heart Day, Thursday 16 October or download the session and watch at a time that suits your unit.
It only takes 30 minutes to learn CPR and there’s no specific equipment needed: use jumpers or cushions to practice on, or ask your young members to bring a teddy along as their patient.
Sessions are available to download to watch offline. Don’t delay, sign up to learn these lifesaving skills today!
