We're looking for 39 adult volunteers for the exciting opportunity to represent Girlguiding as the Red Roses play Ireland in the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations on Saturday 11 April. You'll carry out and hold banners before kick off, standing on pitch alongside the players in front of all the fans at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham as the anthems play. You will then join the fans in the stands for the match.
About you:
- You'll be an adult member (18+) of Girlguiding London and South East England region
- You have Girlguiding uniform you can wear on the day and are comfortable with the fact you'll be on TV
- You're interested in helping to spread the excitement about our partnership with England Rugby in your local guiding area
- You're physically able to carry a part of a large banner, move quickly on and off the pitch, and kneel down while the banners are folded
- You're able to make your own way to Allianz Stadium (there is no reserved parking)
Timings:
9:15am - meet at the Allianz Stadium
9:45-11:45am - rehearsals off and on pitch
12:55pm - stadium doors open
1:50pm - standby
2:55pm - kick off and enjoy the match
Cost:
Free, just cover your travel. If the cost of this is a barrier, you can apply for support under the Access to Guiding grant if chosen. You will receive a meal voucher to use for lunch at the stadium.
How to join:
We're taking expressions of interest for the 39 places we have available using the form below. The window for expressions of interest will be from Thursday 5 March to 9am Tuesday 10 March - now extended!
We'll aim to ensure there is a good mix of members from within the region so that we can spread the excitement for rugby as widely as possible, and will use ballot selection within this.
Volunteers who have been successful in the ballot will be contacted within a week, but we won’t be contacting unsuccessful volunteers. Do keep an eye on your inbox though as we may contact you if spaces become available later on.
