Little Village runs London’s biggest network of baby banks. Their baby banks look a bit like a shop on highstreets around London but all of the items in the baby bank have been donated as a gift from one child to another and given a new lease of love. Families who need help can visit or get a home delivery of all the essential things they need for their babies and young children like clothes, shoes, books, toys, beds, buggies and much needed basics like nappies and toiletries. With winter coming soon and nearly three-quarters (71%) of the parents the charity supports struggling to afford basic winter essentials like coats and waterproof shoes, the charity is launching its Winter Warmers appeal through September and October. This coincides with our Guiding for Good campaign and you could help with a collection of warm, clothes, blankets and shoes that will be passed on with love. See below for more details.

Here’s how:
- Organise a collection of pre-loved warm clothes, coats, blankets and shoes for 0-6 year-olds in your area
- Quality check them and sort by size and bag them up in labelled bags - guidance for this is here [LINK]
- Identify your nearest Little Village collection point here. Most hubs are open Monday to Friday from 9am – 4.30pm. There are also some evening and Saturday sessions, too
You could also help with donations for the emergency packs that Little Village provides to maternity units across London for new mums in need of help.

- Organise a collection of vital new toiletries for mums such as period products, shower gel, hand creams and shampoo

It costs Little Village £10 to deliver a big bundle of clothes and essentials to a family who needs them. You could organise a fundraiser to help make sure babies and children get a gift of pre-loved, cosy clothes and blankets to keep them warm in the winter months.
