Ready for take off: Purr Patrol are headed to South Korea!

The World Scout Jamboree happens once every 4 years. This year, over 40,000 Scouts and Guides from all over the world gather in South Korea from 1-12 August.

Of those 40,000, Girlguiding London and South East England are excited to be represented by 9 young members and 1 unit leader to WSJ25 as part of the UK Contingent. Following selection in autumn 2021, they met for the first time in January 2022. They quickly bonded as a group and with their new friends from Greater London North East Scouts, forming Unit 32 - the Purr Patrol. After lots of fun-filled meetups, camps and fundraisers, it’s time to head to Korea this week!

The Purr Patrol will spend the first few days of their trip acclimatising in Seoul, exploring the city and the Korean demilitarized zone, before heading off to Saeangeum for the official opening ceremony of WSJ25 on 2 August. There, they will be staying at the Moisson subcamp with neighbours from Europe, the Middle East, South America and Asia.

Alongside the Purr Patrol, we are also proud to have 9 region members as part of the international service team for the event.

We want to wish everyone attending an amazing experience! Make sure to check back here for updates and follow @ThePurrPatrol_25WSJ and @GGLaSERInternational on Instagram where you can meet the participants and follow their journey.

Not going to South Korea? Don't worry. Wherever you are in the world, you can experience the excitement of the WSJ by taking part in Dream:LIVE on Sunday 6 August.
