Unveiled: 2025 region international trip badges

Planning is well underway for the region's 2025 international trips this summer. Meet the groups, find out where they're going, and discover the inspiration behind the badges they've created to help fundraise for their trips.

Sakura Squad

We're the Sakura Squad (Team Japan 2025). We're a group of 4 leaders and 12 young members from across the London and South East England region going to Japan this year on an international trip. We are members of Girlguiding from many areas including: Kent East, Kent West, London Over the Border, Middlesex North West, Greater London West, Surrey East, Surrey West, London South West, London North West and Sussex.

We designed this badge on our first prep weekend where we all met each other for the first time. The badge has Mount Fuji in the background, a red bridge which is featured heavily in Japanese architecture, and the moon. You will notice on the moon there are some footprints. This is from Japanese folklore: an old man needs food. A fox, monkey and a rabbit all make donations. The rabbit has the biggest sacrifice and impresses the old man the most who turns out to be a god. He rewards the rabbit by letting him live on the moon.

During our trip in the summer we look forward to visiting Mount Fuji, taking a bullet train, eating the cuisine and exploring temples. We also have the opportunity to connect with Japanese Girl Scouts whilst on this trip, which we are looking forward to doing.

We've created an activity pack, if you would like to purchase our badge please contact us via our email ggteamjapan2025@gmail.com it is £1.50 per badge. The sale of these badges will be going towards the cost of the trip.

Pad Thai Pathways and Wandering Noodles

Hello! We are the Pad Thai Pathways and Wandering Noodles, 2 groups each of 12 young people and 4 leaders from London and South East England region heading to South East Asia this summer.

Our participants designed this badge at our first get together/planning weekend in September. The participants decided that they would like two badges so each team had their own badge but they would also link together, hence they went with a Yin Yang symbol. The outline shows the countries we are headed to: Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The badge with the yellow border and cute little mascot, Pad, represent the Pad Thai Pathways and the badge with the red border and noodle mascot (still to be named) represents the Wandering Noodles.

One badge is £1.50, or £3 if you'd like the set. This does not include postage and packaging. If you'd like to buy a badge and help support us on our international adventure, please email laser25seasia1@gmail.com (Pad Thai Pathways) or laser25seasia2@gmail.com (Wandering Noodles).

Europe 25

Buna Ziua! Witam! Helló! Zdravo! Bonjour! We are Team Trails and Rails, and we are a group of 12 girls and 4 leaders going on an Interrailing adventure across Europe this summer!

We designed our trip badge at our very first training weekend and have even designed an activity pack to go alongside it as well.

Both our badge and challenge pack are themed around the 5 main countries that we are planning to visit: Romania, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, and Switzerland. These are represented by the 5 landmarks in the train windows on our badge: Bran Castle (Romania), The Parliament Building (Hungary), St. Mary’s Basilica (Poland), The Ljubljana Dragon (Slovenia), and Our Chalet (Switzerland)

Our badges cost £2 and the challenge pack is both optional and completely free! If you would like to buy our badge and be sent our challenge pack, please email laser2025europe@gmail.com
