Volunteer at an International Jamboree

Ready for an amazing adventure in Summer 2026?

Do you have some time in Summer 2026 and fancy doing something truly special? How about joining hundreds of Guide and Scout Leaders to help deliver life-changing international experiences for young people? Whether you’d prefer to volunteer at an amazing UK event or head off on an adventure to Europe, becoming part of an International Service Team (IST) at a Jamboree could be just the opportunity you’re looking for.

What is an International Service Team (IST)?

As an IST volunteer, you’ll help bring a whole Jamboree to life – think of it as running a little village in the middle of a field!

You could be supporting activities, helping with logistics, welcoming guests, or keeping everything running smoothly. When you sign up, you can often choose a team that matches your interests and skills, or let the organisers find the perfect role for you. No matter what you do, you’ll be:

  • Playing a crucial role in a major international event
  • Meeting inspiring people from across the world
  • Making new friends and unforgettable memories

Volunteering as a member of IST is a unique experience. It allows you to become part of a team, all of whom become friends very quickly. You can try jobs you have never done before and find a new talent or you can do something you enjoy. You make the participants time on camp an amazing experience and learn how much goes into creating an event like this. Most camps have a special area for IST as well where you can relax with your team, meet new people and also take part in training courses. You can see how the camp runs, and maybe take participants in future but camps don't happen without the IST. You can also choose how involved you want to be, some people get involved from the planning stages or you can just be involved for the week of the camp it is completely your choice and something I thoroughly recommend from an IST addict 😊

— Tori, IST Volunteer

I had an amazing experience volunteering at Roverway as part of the IST, working on the food distribution team. Before participants arrived, we set up the distribution hub and carefully planned how units would collect ingredients to prepare and cook their breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. I worked 7-hour shifts, which still gave me plenty of time to fully enjoy the international camp experience. I had the opportunity to work alongside an incredible team of international volunteers, develop new skills, and form lifelong friendships. Overall, it was a truly rewarding and unforgettable experience.
