FAQs

At a region level we’ll take photos to be featured on our website, social media, submission to press and adhoc marketing materials. We may sometimes need to share photos with our partners to help promote collaborative challenges, projects and events. In line with the new Girlguiding privacy policy we need to ensure we are tracking consent for members and non-members featured in each photo.

Due to the backlog of non-compliant images we will be phasing in new photos over the coming year and aim to be fully compliant by April 2019. If you currently feature in a photo on our website and you wish for it to be removed please contact us with the link to the webpage and we will remove it.

Please note: we can’t guarantee that your content is out of circulation due to the nature of digital and printed materials.

We want you to know how we plan to use your photo/s. Some people may not be comfortable being featured on a website but are happy to be submitted to news outlets. Our photo consent form will enable us to track the usage of photos you feature in and be compliant within the Girlguiding privacy policy framework.

If you’re taking a photo or video for a region purpose (i.e. you want it to be featured on this website or shared on social media) you need to ensure that you have written consent for everyone in the photo before sending it to us here. Make sure to let us know how you want us to share it!

Our photo retention policy is 3 years. We will store/ use your photo for 3 years after which we will delete it from our system and website.

If you have any questions or if you would like to remove or change your consent at any time please contact us.

If you withdraw consent, we’ll stop using your story, photo or video in any future materials.

Where your content has been used in the past prior to 25 May 2018, we’ll delete any digital image you’ve made us aware of. However, we can’t guarantee that your content is out of circulation due to the nature of digital and printed materials.

Where your consent has been renewed and used in new imagery after 25 May 2018 we’ll tell you where it’s been used and take practical steps to replace it. However, we can’t guarantee that your content is out of circulation due to the nature of digital and printed materials.
