Escape to Edinburgh

In October 150 Rangers, Guides, Young Leaders and Leaders took an adventure to Edinburgh to take part in a wide game across the city. Despite the weather, teams completed challenges together all over the city, which was a great way to explore and see the sights. It was great to visit the Girlguiding Scotland headquarters (and buy a few badges) and to meet Scottish groups to make guiding connections and friends across borders.

Escape to Edinburgh was created to encourage and support leaders to go further and provide amazing opportunities for our young members. It did not disappoint. The groups all came with a spirt of adventure, enjoyed the wide game challenge and explored the beautiful city of Edinburgh, creating memories to last a lifetime. Thanks to everyone who came along, or helped support a group to come for the adventure and hope even more will come next year to Breakaway to Belgium.

It was a fantastic adventure for the girls and far removed from anything we had done before!

Thank you to the units who joined in and to the leader teams who made the adventure possible. It's great to see Girlguiding LaSER going further!

If you’re wondering what’s next after Escape to Edinburgh, we invite Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders to Breakaway to Belgium in October 2023! Girlguiding LaSER will organise a one-day wide game on 21 and 22 October to encourage groups to explore the city of Brussels, try fun challenges and meet other Girlguiding groups. You'll build your adventure around this – your team decides how and when to travel, what to do, where to stay and how long for.
