January 2020 blogging memo

Welcome to your first blogging memo of 2020, and of the decade!

We really want to make this the year we share your stories - no matter how big or small. We know that reading about Guiding activities encourages girls and young women to sign up, and volunteers to offer their time, so let us know what you've been up to and help us to let everyone know about the fantastic opportunities available.

🗓 It's a new term! What's on the schedule? Let us know what you're planning to take part in, what you're most excited about and what your members have chosen to do. Everyone should now be taking part in the new programme, so let us know which Skills Builders and UMAs you're trying out.

✍ Maybe you've planned some trips for the term ahead to beat the winter blues - if so, why not ask one of your members to write a trip report for us? It can help with their communication skills as well, and add another skill to their bow!

📸 Including photos in your article will really make it stand out and show everyone what you've been up to. Please make sure though that you have the right photo permissions for everyone visible.

We always want to cover everything that guiding has to offer, so whatever you're doing or wherever you're going - we want to hear from you!

What have we been blogging about?

Since our last memo we've had some great blogs posted.

• The Hive have written about their January badge of the month - Self Care. A great badge to kick off the year with!
• The Hive have also written their top ten new years resolutions and activities, and about the Bletchley Park women as part of their 'woman of the month' series.
• Worthing Cissbury Division Rangers have been successful in securing the annual Peter Sell Award for £5,000 - we've got the details of how they did it, as well as a post with some easyfundraising details.
• Rachael, a Girlguiding LaSER trustee, is coming to the end of her three-year term. She's told us why she thinks this is a great opportunity for members aged 18-30.
• Sophie Cantwell-Kelly, a young leader, interviewed Girlguiding LaSER's ambassadors at an event - read about how it went!
